Spot The Sig! December 14th

This weeks Spot the Sig! is a sort of personal recognition to someone very special to me – no it is not the player who signed the card above.

This is for my girlfriend Jo. In addition to putting up with me and all the nuisances related to my hobbies - sports, music, and card collecting – AND holding down a full time job AND keeping our lives in order, she has been diligently working on her Master’s degree.

Recently she has completed her Master’s Thesis, I am extremely happy for her and she should be proud of her accomplishments also. I have enjoyed following her quest and I only wish I could have been more supportive. I feel lucky for the moments I was able to make contributions and provide feedback. Now that you have successfully finished your Master’s program, Jo, I congratulate you.

I am sure all you folks that have been participating in STS! May be asking what does this little window into our personal lives have to with this weeks contest? It is the bonus Question.

Jo’s Thesis involved collecting data from students learning a foreign language. The bonus question is: What was the language? Yes, the language is somehow connected to this week’s card.
Signature is good for a Double, Bonus good for a Walk or Stolen Base.

Here are the current STS! standings

PTBNL - repsresentin those Fightin Phillies - 1 Run in - Victorino on Third
Cardboard Junkie - Braves - 1 Run in - Man on First
Stats on the Back - Stinkin Mets - Man on 3rd
Cardboard Addiction - Bosox - Man on First
Night Owl - Dodgers - Matt Kemp triumphantly advances to 2nd.
A Cardboard Problem has gotten the Yankees into the game, they remain on Deck, but I would never count out the Bronx Bombers.

I'm assuming Russian is correct, but I'm gonna throw out Spanish anyway just in case.

well done Mark, Kouzmanoff and Russian are correct.

That should score a run for Stats on the Back. I will have updated standings up in the next couple o days.

I wish I saw this sooner, since I have a pretty good Kouz collection, so I knew that sig on the spot.

However, I have a question.

How is the Russian thing related? Because he's not Russian. He's Macedonian, which is actually the reason I started collecting him.

My family is of similar heritage and we don't get a lot of people from that sort of background to root for.

Just wondering?

Yes Sooz - you are absolutely correct he is Mecedonian.

We started following Kouzmanoff since he has been dubbed the "Crushin Russian" although as you have mentioned he is not really Russian.

I think it is pretty darn cool that Kouzmanoff has a fans based on his heritage.
