Today we got word of the death of Politician and Actor Fred Thompson. In 2008 Topps issued a card of Thompson as part of their insert set dedicated to that years Presidential contest.
Brief bio on the flip side which doesn't mention Thompson role in "Hunt for Red October" which I had forgotten about until @moxxjason mentioned it on Twitter.

This insert set has been on my mind a little bit since we are in debate season. A couple of names in that set that have come up again this time around: Clinton, Biden, Romney, and Ron Paul (father of Rand)
