This is just a curiosity I have with how we get our sports information in 2010.
On the Right I have posted a poll to find out how different people found out about the death of George Steinbrenner.
I am not really interested in who is a Yankee fan or debating the influence good or bad that Steinbrenner has had. I just wanted to find out how information/news of this nature is passed on spread and discussed.

I turned on my laptop and it was on Yahoo, which is my home page. I rarely watch TV anymore in the morning, so my computer has taken over for my local paper and the news/weather/traffic. I gat all that info with a few clicks instead of waiting for it to come around.
I guess "Web-only site" would be the closest thing to that. That's how I voted.

I saw it on yahoo.com when I turned on my computer in the morning. Then I decided to watch the MLB network to get the full story. Surprisingly, the MLB Network had nothing about it. They were continuing with their regularly-scheduled pre-packaged blather about the all-star game - no breaking news story, no nuthin'.
So, against my long-standing principles, I switched over to ESPN and watched that for awhile, until it looped back to the beginning for another lap.
Later in the day, MLB had their tributes also. (Better to be late and have a slick production, than break the news first, I guess!)
