This is part of our Original Artwork series dedicated to players who had a #CupOfCoffee in the Major Leagues.
- In their April 1st 1985 issue Sports Illustrated ran a Cover Story on a mysterious pitcher at Mets Spring Training named Sidd Finch.
- The story was an April Fools Prank written by author and participatory journalist George Plimpton. Plimpton later turned the story into a novel.
- 1985 Topps was used as the design for this cup. That is the year for the original Sports Illustrated cover Story.
- Where the Team Logo is found in 1985 we have placed a French Trombone, the instrument played by the fictional Sidd Finch.
