Yes I have blurred out the player name and team. This is to demonstrate just how weak Topps Embossed was. The only way to differentiate the players is by reading the text.
Did baseball caps really look like that in 1965???

I hated the embossed cards in '65 for just that reason. They didn't look like anybody to me. I'd pull them out of the pack and throw them straight in the garbage. The gum got more respect from me, then. Other kids, though (I don't think any of us thought of ourselves as "collectors" then), thought the embossed cards were cool beans. To each his own. And, at this late date, even though I still hate them, I AM sorry I tossed them in the garbage.
